With a sleek white design, the Yeedi k650 is a stylish-looking model that packs in plenty of great features for its low price. We recently reviewed it, putting it through its paces to see if it was worthy of a spot in our best robot vacuums guide.

The Yeedi k560 is a level down from the brand’s newer model, the Yeedi k700, but comes with a lower price tag to match, placing it squarely in the more affordable price range for smart vacs. For an extra $100, the k700 has mopping and room-mapping capabilities, whereas the Yeedi k650 is marketed as being best for pet hair. While some of the best vacuum cleaners for home also have robust pet hair cleaning modes, we’re excited to see a robot cleaner devote itself to this particular problem.

Despite having a lower price tag, the Yeedi k650 is plenty capable and delivers in many key areas: its app is intuitive and fresh, it has a sleek design, plus specialist features to deal with pet hair. For our Yeedi k650 review, we put the robot cleaner to work on hardwood floors, loose rugs and carpet to see how it performed, and this is what we found…

Yeedi k650 review: Design

Rather than the black color usual of robot cleaners, the Yeedi k650 is noticeable for its white circular design and super sleek glass tempered top. More than aesthetics lie behind the introduction of tempered glass, as this is a vacuum with a pet-friendly home in mind, and will prevent any scratches that might arise from pesky paws.

The Yeedi k650’s design means it really does look shiny and new even after many weeks of use, so if you’re looking for a budget model that will also look the part while sitting in your home, it’s worth considering.

The Yeedi k650’s power button can be found on the top of the model, and if you don’t have your phone to hand to control it in-app, you can use this button to stop the machine from vacuuming. It also has bumpers covering its exterior to prevent it from taking too hard of a knock if it runs into an object, and at 3.1 inches tall, it’s slender enough to squeeze under beds and sofas with ease.

The Yeedi k650 is complete with its charging dock, which can simply be plugged in at the wall, though you will want to make sure there are no rogue wires around the station as the vacuum makes its way around the room, as we found it was prone to eating them up. The crowning glory of this vacuum is its main brush, which is designed to pick up any bothersome pet hair around the home.

This is an extremely effective brush, which is shown in the sheer volume of hair that ends up wrapped around it. An improvement to the k650 might be more technology to better prevent tangling so that the hoover can cut and dispose of hair before moving on. Beyond pet hair, the two edge brushes which accompany the main brush are also great for eradicating dust on hard floors.

Not all robot vacuums are smartphone-enabled, which is why it’s great that Yeedi k650 is, especially given its low price point. It can be connected with your home’s Wi-Fi in order to receive instructions on when to clean and for how long.

The daily cleaning schedule option is ultra-handy, and no-go zones can be determined by ‘Boundary Strips’ which you can lay down in your house. This is a more complicated system than simply being able to control no-go zones via the app but works if you go to the effort of setting it up. For another smart vacuum with excellent mapping capabilities, read our iRobot Roomba i7+ review .

Yeedi k650 review: Setting up

This robot vacuum can be set up with the QR code attached on top of it, and after you’ve located and scanned it, things are explained well on the app to complete set up. We had no issues setting up multiple smartphone devices with the same QR code, and the robot could also be customized by name, which is a nice touch.

The Yeedi app (iOS, Android) is free to download from the App Store and Google Play, and once installed on your phone, the app’s interface will prompt you to set up your vacuum immediately. Once you have done so, and the robot is synced with your phone, you can start delving into its different features and start creating specific cleaning schedules.

Yeedi k650 review: Performance

The Yeedi k650 has undoubtedly great suction power and will leave your floors and carpets looking noticeably fresher after each clean. For a more affordable model, it’s also great at getting right into corners for a thorough vacuuming experience. For another affordable option that handles corner well, read our Eufy RoboVac 11S review .

We tested the k650 on carpet, a thick rug, and a hard floor. It made the transitions from each smoothly and was considerably faster on hard flooring. Even without using the boundary strips, this vacuum is very capable of not causing any collisions due to its built-in sensors.

The Yeedi k650 is ultra-quiet as it moves around your house, though it will handily let you know if it has found itself in trouble, as it calls out for help when it’s stuck. Due to this model not working by mapping, but rather using a freestyle cleaning method, it can sometimes get lost out of sight.

There’s no mopping function here, so if that’s important to you, take a look at our Roborock S6 MaxV review .

That’s why the Find My Robot feature is also helpful, so you can locate your bot via its calls. Though you can’t plot the route of your k650, its running power of 130 minutes means that even if it revisits the same spot a few times, it’ll still have time to work on the rest of your rooms too.

The maximum suction power of this robot is 2000pa, which is enough to compete with other more expensive models, including the best iRobot Roomba vacuums , which have around 1800pa of power on average.

Though powerful, it remains quiet enough to keep around when you’re in the room, with noise reduction technology meaning it should run at around 56 decibels (which Yeedi says is like the sound of a running microwave). You can control your Yeedi k650 via your smart speaker too (Alexa Voice Control), and set it off to work with just one voice command.

Should you buy the Yeedi k650 robot vacuum?

If you’re looking for an inexpensive robot vacuum to take one chore off your hands, and you have pets at home that shed frequently, then the Yeedi k650 will be a welcome addition to your home. The suction power is impressive, and it leaves a great finish, even when its cleaning pattern is somewhat random at times.

The Yeedi k650 is also easy to operate via the app, so that even those less used to smart home technology should find it simple to integrate into their routines, especially with the option of a daily cleaning schedule.

It may not have the additional features of some of its more high-end competitors, such as mopping or room-mapping, but for the price you might be surprised at how effective it is. The Yeedi k650 also looks great with its sleek white exterior, meaning that it’s not an eyesore when it’s quietly cleaning around the house.
